Glossary
Terms used across this documentation, with the page that covers each in full.
Agreement — the fraction of non-errored runs in an ensemble that voted the same way. 0 when
every run errored. See judge.
Auto-detection — picking the highest-priority provider this machine can actually use, when none
is named. Async, and never selects mock. See
choose a provider.
Cache key — a hash of the facts you decide should invalidate an entry. This library composes nothing on your behalf. See caching.
Consensus — the aggregate of an ensemble’s runs: votes, a binary verdict, agreement, and mean confidence. See judge.
Ensemble — N independent runs of the same question, executed sequentially. See judge and consensus.
Errored run — a run whose provider call or validation failed. It is recorded rather than
dropped, counts against consensus, and forces human-review. Never a silent pass.
Identity — a provider’s { provider, model } pair. Always concrete, resolvable without
constructing anything or reading a credential. See
providers.
Inert gate — a budget check over a model whose price is unknown. It passes unconditionally
because the cost evaluates to 0. Not the same as a gate that is satisfied. See
cost and budgets.
Provider — an adapter satisfying (system, user, schema, temperature) -> JSON. Five exist. See
providers.
Run — one provider call plus its validation, recorded as an InferenceRun (completion layer) or
a JudgeRun (judge layer). Exactly one of result/verdict and error is present.
Seam — an injection point that replaces something which would otherwise leave the process:
MockProvider, ExecFn, LlamaRuntime. See
testing your integration.
Selector — a model name that must be resolved against the machine before use: auto, fast,
balanced, quality. Requires an async factory. See
choosing a model.
Tier — a size class in the curated local-model catalog: fast, balanced, quality. Chosen
from available memory with a 3.5× headroom multiplier over file size.
Verdict — a JudgeVerdict: claim, observed, match, confidence, reasoning. Its field
descriptions are prompt surface and steer the model.
Zone — the routing decision for a consensus: auto-pass, auto-fail, or human-review. The
field to branch on. See judge.
